【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulasoneelementinestablishingtheuniformityofshipments.Viscosityisalsovaluableforrheologicalcharacterizationofbinderpitches.Binderpitchimpartsconsistencytocarbonaceousmixesandaffectstheirresistancetodeformation.Binderpitchviscosityisimportantforassessingmixconsistencyandforevaluatingtheeaseofmixextrusionormoldingintoartifacts.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheapparentshearviscosityofcoal-tarandpetroleum-basedpitcheshavingaMettlersofteningpoint(SP)rangeofapproximately95to120176C.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableonlyforrotationalviscometers.1.3Sincethistestmethodisbasedontheoreticalgrounds,strictadherencetodetailsoftheprocedureisnecessarytocomplywiththetheoreticalrequirements.1.4Thevaluesstatedinconventionalunits(centipoise)aretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitisthepascalsecond(Pa[dot]s)andonemillipascalsecond(mPa[dot]s)=onecentipoise(cps);centipoiseisincgsunits.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection7.
